USAJOBS is the Federal Government’s largest online jobs portal for people with disabilities. Many of you have probably been on it or referred job seekers to it. Like many search engines, job seekers can create a profile and upload their resume and documents for their application.

Within the Federal Government, hiring authorities are a way for federal agencies to hire individuals that may fall under a certain group. There are a number of hiring authorities. We’d like to highlight the resources available to job seekers with disabilities.

Schedule A is the name of is the hiring authority that gives Federal agencies an optional, and potentially quicker, way to hire individuals with disabilities. Schedule A does this by offering an “exception” to the traditional hiring process to eligible job seekers with disabilities. Applying through Schedule A may be a great option to secure a Federal job.
